Wall Construction
Standard CMU installation techniques are used when Installing the Omni Block insulated concrete block system. The wall below left is at 4’0″ “first lift” height and has been grouted.
The photo below right illustrates a “top-of-wall” height and is prior to final grouting. The beam pocket will need the pocket hardware installed during the grouting process. Most inspectors require “clean-outs” at the bottom of the wall when “tall-wall” grouting occurs. This mason used spray paint to denote rebar/grout locations.


Standard masonry lintels are used throughout the country. Powers Steel lintels are depicted in these photos and work extremely well because the design of the lintel accommodates an inverted stretcher. Lintels are not always required but can act as forms for the opening crossovers and can actually speed up the construction process.
