Sante Fe Style Residence  –  Scottsdale, Arizona

This home sits perched on the land that was formerly part of Frank Lloyd Wright’s “Talesin West Foundation” property. Along with the magnificent views of the Phoenix Valley, also comes a total western exposure, which is never energy efficient in Arizona.

The homeowners approached a quality custom builder, who lived in a wood frame home situated down the street just five or six lots, to build them their custom home. They loved the builder’s floor plan and ultimately built the exact same floor plan in a completely different elevation style. Their home was built using Omni Block and to this day the Omni Block home that has the same square footage, same cubic volume, same exposure, same windows and doors, but with a down-sized HVAC system consistently uses 40% LESS heating and cooling energy than the wood frame home.
