Block Units

There are five block units that make up the majority of the Omni Block Insulated Concrete Block 8″ Wall System.

Omni StretcherThe middle lower block is the Omni Stretcher 7 5/8″ X 7 5/8″ X 15 5/8″ and is used throughout most of the insulated wall.

Omni Left CornerThe upper right block pictured above is the Omni Left Corner 7 5/8″ X 7 5/8″ X 15 5/8″. Left and Right Corner Blocks are used alternatively at 90º corners and alternatively with a standard CMU half at all window and door jambs or when a wall “dead” ends. Omni Corner Block are “utility” blocks which can be used during the first course when vertical rebar needs to be bent in order to hit the smaller Omni Stretcher Block cell in subsequent courses. Omni Corner Block also accommodates plumbing waste vent stacks and electrical wiring runs as well. Additionally, Omni Corner block is the best choice if a block needs to be cut to a shorter length.

Omni Right CornerThe lower right block above is the Omni Right Corner 7 5/8″ X 7 5/8″ X 15 5/8″. The Left and Right Corners are mirror images of one another.

8 x 8 x 16 Standard CMUThe middle upper block to the left is a standard CMU 7 5/8″ X 7 5/8″ X 15 5/8″ and is used in situations where solid grouting is specified by the structural engineer (above garage openings, inline pilasters) and where closed ended block is required at both ends of a block, such as when 90º corners occur with a door or window jamb 8″ adjacent from the corner.

8 x 8 x 8 Standard Half CMUThe far left block above depicts the standard half CMU 7 5/8″ X 7 5/8″ X 7 5/8″. It is commonly used at all window and door jambs or when a wall “dead” ends.
