Thermally Efficient

Omni Block has an R-13.6 rating per ASTM C-236 Guarded Hot Box for the 8″ model. Most HVAC engineers and energy specialists agree that there is more to wall energy efficiency than just the resistance value of a heavy-weight material. The “performance value” that is routinely used or inputed is R-24.6. This number was derived from an ASHRAE calculation method of 90.1 and has been used for years without exception, including “guaranteed utility cost, not to exceed” programs.

8″ Block Design

• 7 5/8″ x 7 5/8″ x 15 5/8″ standard cementitious masonry unit (CMU)
• No direct cross webs
• Thermal path extended to 14″
• Offset and constricted cross webs and a middle lineal wall create cells
• Cells are individually filled with uniformly molded Expanded Polystyrene insulation inserts
• Small cell may be required to be filled with rebar and grout
• Three layers of thermal mass and two layers of insulation

12″ Block Design

• 11 5/8″ x 7 5/8″ x 15 5/8″ standard cementitious masonry unit (CMU)
• No direct cross webs
• Thermal path extended to 24″
• Offset and constricted cross webs and a middle lineal wall create cells
• Cells are individually filled with uniformly molded Expanded Polystyrene insulation inserts
• Alternating (from side to side) small cells may be required to be filled with rebar and grout
• Four layers of thermal mass and three layers of insulation

Insulation Inserts

• Uniformly molded Expanded Polystyrene
• R-4 per inch at 1 lb. density
• Recyclable
• Non-toxic
• CFC free
• No “out gassing”
• No Formaldehyde
• Fluted for moisture migration
• Strategically notched so that when inserted into a block course there is no interference with mortar
